I am an honest, caring and compassionate psychologist. I have over a decade of experience working in mental health, which includes 4+ years of experience in the NHS. I have worked with people of all ages in different settings, which include NHS secondary and tertiary care, a mental health charity for young people, a charity for the homeless and a sexual health centre for young people.
I have over 17 years of safeguarding experience with children, adolescents and adults. I have liaised with domestic violence services and charities and have experience in working with multi-agencies, such as MARAC (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference). I have worked with drug and alcohol addiction services, within inpatient psychiatric wards, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and older adult services.
My doctoral research was about the therapeutic alliance with young people in cognitive behavioural therapy, how difficulties in the relationship between the client and therapist can arise, and how they can be addressed and resolved.
Qualifications
Professional doctorate (PsychD) in Counselling Psychology
MSc (Master of Science) in Applied Psychological Research in Child and Adult Psychopathology
BSc (Bachelor of Science) with honours in Psychology and Counselling
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) trained practitioner
